monsoon walkabout: The Irish wedding

Irish + South African wedding = 3 day party and dancing til the sun rises!!!

We just can't understand why the Irish complain about the weather! We were 'delighted' with the sun shining down on us each day, although of course it didn't outshine the beautiful bride!

Thanks to the Flynnericks for an awesome time. We were very sad to leave after an epic week of fun!

We also spent some quality time with Sera in Dublin - thanks for having us and sorry for being bad shopping influences on you!

Sally for leaving her computer on the floor at the front door; Kerry for standing on it and cracking the screen!

Gayle for not being able to part with her precious bottle of vodka and having it confiscated by airport officials

Sally for leaving her Swiss Army in her hand luggage (clearly way too much time on buses and not at airports!)

Sally for breaking her second pair of sunglasses. Kerry in sympathy, looses her first!

Gayle needs a moment - its too hot to concentrate

Salsie continues to attempt wearing her 3/4 pants despite strict previous instructions never to let her put them near her legs again

How is it possible that everyone we meet including Westerners have asked if Sally and Kerry are sisters? Enlighten us please..

In a Nutshell

It may be our impending 30s that pre-empted our desire to throw on backpacks and travel through SE Asia during the monsoon season just to prove our youth. Or perhaps a yearning to be back in the 3rd world. Either way, we decided to take some time out to see a bit of the world. It all centres around SE Asia, where Gayle, Kerry and Sally meet up to explore Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. Luckily for Kerry and Sally the holiday is extended to include some trekking in Nepal, an Irish wedding and following Gayle back to see Aus and New Zealand. We know that you have better things to do than read about our daily meanderings, so we will keep this blog short, hopefully amusing and picture happy (Lets be honest, pictures are always a crowd pleaser and we hope will increase our blog-rating so check out the photo links on the right-hand side if you want to skip straight to the pics).
